How Long Does a Government Website Redesign Take?

Lead-in

Any experienced agency can estimate a redesign timeline when your requirements are clear.

Projects get tripped up by two things: the unknown unknowns, and deadlines set before anyone knows what the work involves, like the end of a fiscal year or a compliance date.

In this video, I cover both, the trade-offs of trying to go faster, and why 6 to 12 months is a smart starting point for any redesign of significance. It also covers the part agencies often underestimate: for every hour your partner puts in, plan on about the same from your own team.
